From cozy winter markets to ice skating, it’s the perfect time of year to experience all the Upstate has to offer. Greer Christmas Tree Lighting – Greer, SC
On Friday, December 6th, head to Greer City Park for a festive holiday tree lighting event. The tree lighting event is free to all with food and drink available for purchase. This event also offers free train rides, ice sculpting demonstrations, and live performances. Santa himself makes a cheerful appearance sure to create lasting memories! The event is from 5 pm to 8 pm with the tree lighting happening around 7:30.
Greenville Christmas Market – Greenville, SC
Looking to get all your Christmas shopping done? Check out the Greenville Christmas Market held at the Grand Bohemian located in Downtown Greenville. Starting November 29th and going until December 31st, there is plenty of time to take the family and get some Santa photos done! Check their website for a full schedule of kid friendly crafting events and story time, as well as the Santa appearances. Live performances are also taking place at the market throughout the month, from local choirs to full orchestras, there is sure to be a show for all.
A Merry Mauldin Christmas – Mauldin, SC
Held at the Mauldin Cultural Center on Thursday, December 5th, stop by for a Merry Mauldin Christmas! This event is free for all to attend with free parking as well. There will be a small craft fair with local vendors, food and drink sale, and a Santa appearance of course! With the event being held from 5 pm to 8 pm, make sure you stick around until at least 7 for the lighting of the Mauldin Christmas Tree.
Greenville Christmas Parade – Greenville, SC
On Saturday, December 7th, gather around Main Street in Downtown Greenville for the annual Christmas Parade. A treasured tradition and a must-see event with floats and performances from organizations all over Greenville. This event starts promptly at 6:30 pm, so it is recommended to get there early to get a good spot. Don’t forget to watch out for Santa’s float!
Greer Christmas Parade – Greer, SC
The Greer Christmas Parade is being held on Sunday, December 8th, at 2:30 pm. Starting at Poinsett Drive and ending on Main Street, this parade makes a full route through the beautiful downtown Greer area. There are four award categories for floats this year, and the parade is accepting float entries until November 23rd! The Greer City Christmas Parade is a heartwarming holiday event you won’t want to skip out on.
Ice on Main – Greenville, SC
Everyone’s favorite yearly tradition is back again with the United Community Ice on Main event, returning November 25th and running through January 20th, 2025. Tickets for adults and children are 10 dollars, with children under 2 getting in for free. UC Ice on Main also has skates available for rent. Check out their website for full rink hours and to reserve tickets in advance! Rink admission is limited due to capacity control.
